Eid Milad Un Nabi 2026 — School Program
The Blessed Birth of the Prophet ﷺ
Eid Milad Un Nabi marks the birth of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who was born on Monday, the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, in the Year of the Elephant (approx. 570 CE) in Makkah. This was a year of great significance — the year Allah protected the Kaaba from the army of Abraha, as recounted in Surah Al-Fil.
The Prophet ﷺ said: "I am the leader of the children of Adam on the Day of Judgement, and I am not boasting." (Sahih Muslim). His birth brought light to a world steeped in ignorance, and his life remains the perfect example for all humanity.
The Prophet's Early Life
Born an orphan — his father Abdullah (RA) passed away before his birth — the Prophet ﷺ was entrusted to Halima Sa'diyah (RA) of the Banu Sa'd tribe for his early years. His mother Amina (RA) passed when he was six, and his grandfather Abdul Muttalib when he was eight. He was then raised by his loving uncle Abu Talib.
Even before prophethood, he was known as Al-Amin (the Trustworthy) and As-Sadiq (the Truthful) by his people — a testament to his impeccable character. Allah says: "And indeed, you are of a great moral character." (Qur'an 68:4)
School Program — 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 AH
Jamia Fatima Niswan School will hold a special assembly to honour the birth of the Prophet ﷺ. The program will include:
- Tilawat — Recitation from the Holy Qur'an
- Naat Sharif — Students will recite praise poetry in honour of the Prophet ﷺ
- Speeches — Students will speak on the life, character, and teachings of the Prophet ﷺ
- Seerah Quiz — An interactive quiz on the biography of the Prophet ﷺ
- Distribution of Sweets — In celebration of this blessed occasion
- Art Exhibition — Student artwork depicting scenes from the Seerah and Islamic calligraphy of the Prophet's names
The Significance of Milad
Commemorating the birth of the Prophet ﷺ is a means of expressing our love and gratitude to Allah for sending us the greatest of messengers. It is a time to reflect on his teachings, revive his Sunnah, and strengthen our connection to him. Allah commands us: "Say, [O Muhammad], 'If you should love Allah, then follow me, [and] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins.'" (Qur'an 3:31)
